The Best Movies of All Time
Like for all the other things where tastes are involved, it is not easy to enumerate the best movies of all times. But at least we could try. So here are some of them:
- Casablanca (1942) – directed by Michael Curtis, this movie instantly captured the hearts of the public all over the world, and in despite of time, this movie did not go to oblivion. Actually, what happened was quite the opposite: it became a classic.
- Citizen Kane (1941). This masterpiece of Orson Welles also fell into the group of the unforgettable movies. You would watch it today and enjoy it, no mater it was made some seventy years ago.
- The Godfather Trilogy by Francis Ford Coppola – a film that is worth of all its glory for many reasons, including its soundtrack.

- Gone With the Wind (1939), directed by Victor Fleming – nearly everyone has seen it for at least one time. Its characters are almost iconic, as well as the actors playing them. Everyone has heard about Scarlet O’Hara and probably remembers many of her famous remarks.
- Chinatown (1974) by Roman Polanski, whose geniality has proven itself for so many times. Speaking of Roman Polanski, there are more of his movies to deserve the title of timeless. Those are, for example: “Rosemary’s Baby” with Mia Farrow as Rosemary; “Bitter Moon” which gathered the very elite among actors; and more recent – “The Pianist” and “The Ninth Gate”.
Then there are: Lawrence of Arabia (1962), by David Lean; Manhattan (1979), by Woody Allen; Sunset Boulevard (1950), by Billy Wilder; 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968), by Stanley Kubrick; The Graduate (1967), by Mike Nichols; Vertigo (1958), by Alfred Hitchcock; One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (1975), by Milos Forman; Taxi Driver (1976), by Martin Scorsese; Nashville (1975), by Robert Altman and many more.
