1.”Avatar” (2009) made incredible $ 749,316,799.
This is a science fiction movie by James Cameron, staring Sigourney Weaver, Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Stephen Lang, Michelle Rodriguez and Joel David Moore. If you are interested in special effect you will love this film. The story itself is interesting and there were even speculations about its political background! The parallel is made regarding the movie and actual global issues. However movie succeeded to capture the global attention and made great profit.

2. “Titanic” (1997) made $600,788,188. This is a story of romance and tragedy, directed by James Cameron, who was also co-producer and co-editor. Back then it was the most expensive movie ever. But it paid out, that’s for sure.

3. “The Dark Knight” (2008) made $533,184,219. This film is directed by Christopher Nolan and belongs to the Batman series. The leading role is given to Christian Bale. Other great actors who took part are Gary Oldman, Maggie Gyllenaal and Heath Ledger who played the Joker.

4. “Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope”, directed by George Lucas, made $460,998,007.Till this day it nearly became a classic! Its story is original and extraordinary creative, so as everything else when it comes to this film.

5. “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” (2006) made $423,416,000. Well, with Johnny Depp as a leading actor, it is no surprise.

6.”The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King“ is next with $377,019,252.

7. “The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring” is the first part of the Tolkien trilogy which made $314,163,000

8. “The Matrix Reloaded” (2003) made $281,538,952.

9. “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” comes next with $249,538,952.
